This Mamavation Monday finds me in pretty much the same boat I was in last week…dental pain, jaw pain, ear pain, tooth pain, and dental pain. Today I re-visited the dentist and I believe he may have helped, but it will take a couple of days to be back to my normal self.
My scale went up .4 when I weighed in on Wed, but I am encouraged that it wasn’t worse considering my troubles with eating soft foods this week.
I heard all of my sistah’s shouting off the rooftops at me last week about protein shakes, smoothies, etc., but to no avail. As a former lap-band patient, I lived of nothing but protein shakes for two months. Then I lived off of cottage cheese, soups, applesauce, and yogurt for the next month, (these extreme diets are no longer required by my doctors office for new patients). Having to eat soft foods leads me down a road that no one wants to see me go down, especially if you live in my house. So just know that you were heard, and I am hanging in there doing the best with what I can. <3

What’s up with the dental pain? Is there an end in sight? Do you like fish? The Tilapia I’ve been eating is super soft, grilled or baked and the Paul Prudhomme Seafood seasoning makes it amazing. There’s always egg whites scrambled, and I have a recipe that uses chocolate protein powder, the PB2 powdered peanut butter, and greek yogurt to make them taste like Reese’s. Lean ground beef works too-pretty soft and you can stuff a pepper with it – when the pepper is par-boiled and baked afterwards, it’s really soft. Hang in there. I’m with ya- I can’t do anything but bike and swim right now and it’s getting pretty old!
